ATLANTA - Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre recently released their joint 2010 Annual Report, which celebrates the success of both venues.
Both Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre exceeded budgeted revenue forecasts. Additionally, the economic impact of both venues is far reaching. Based on an economic impact study performed by an independent consulting firm, Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Centre created 1,080 jobs in 2010 and generated almost $114 million in overall economic impact for Cobb County and the State of Georgia. Approximately 44,000 hotel room nights are directly attributable to events at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
In 2010, the Cobb Galleria Centre produced a total of 694 events with attendance of 346,000. The Cobb Energy Centre hosted a total of 263 events with attendance of 240,000.
“The Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority once again accomplished its mission of enhancing the quality of life and providing economic benefit to the community with the activity in our venues positively impacting the hospitality industry through visitation, hotel occupancy and providing access to the cultural arts,” said Michele Swann, General Manager and CEO of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority, the governing body for both Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
Located in the beautifully landscaped 88-acre Galleria complex in prestigious northwest Atlanta, Cobb Galleria Centre is Atlanta’s premiere convention facility with 320,000 square feet of event space, 4 exhibition halls, 20 meeting rooms, 4 executive boardrooms and a grand ballroom. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, a $145 million, state-of-the-art facility, is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway in northwest Atlanta, inside the Perimeter. Cobb Energy Centre is a premier venue for opera, concerts, Broadway shows, ballet, educational shows, family shows and corporate meetings and events.
