ATLANTA – Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre recently released their joint 2011 Annual Report, which celebrates the far-reaching economic impact of the venues on Cobb County and the state of Georgia.
Both Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre exceeded budgeted revenue forecasts while filling hotel rooms, contributing to the tax base, creating jobs and having a major economic impact on our local economy. Based on an economic impact study performed by an independent consulting firm, Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Centre created 1,240 jobs in 2011 and generated more than $124 million in overall economic impact for Cobb County and the State of Georgia. Approximately 67,500 hotel room nights are directly attributable to events at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
In 2011, the Cobb Galleria Centre produced a total of 652 events with attendance of 336,000. The Cobb Energy Centre hosted a total of 254 events with attendance of 254,600.
“The economic and fiscal impacts by Cobb Galleria Centre in 2011 increased over those in fiscal year 2010 primarily due to a 48% increase in hotel room nights generated as a direct result of the convention center activity,” said Michele Swann, General Manager and CEO of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority, the governing body for both Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. “The impacts achieved by Cobb Energy Centre also increased over the prior fiscal year, which were attributable to a 7% increase in overall event attendance.”

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, a $145 million, state-of-the-art facility, is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway in northwest Atlanta, inside the Perimeter.
